What is it?
Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin gives financial assistance to rural families without a pucca house. Under PMAY-G 2.0 the target is 4.95 crore houses by 2029; as of August 2026 over 3.9 crore houses were sanctioned and about 3.1 crore completed. Assistance is ₹1.20 lakh in plain areas and ₹1.30 lakh in hilly/IAP districts, paid in instalments directly to the beneficiary's bank account, plus MGNREGA wages and toilet support.
Benefits
The beneficiary list is public information — you can check it free, without login, for any gram panchayat in the country. Finding your name early lets you track sanction, instalments and construction stage, and act quickly if your record is wrong.

Important dates
There is no closing date to check the list — it is a live report. New names enter through AwaasPlus app surveys verified by the Gram Sabha. The scheme's house-completion target runs to March 2029.
Common mistakes to avoid
- ✓Using old pmayg.nic.in or awaassoft.nic.in bookmarks and concluding the scheme is closed
- ✓Paying someone for a 'PDF of the list' — the list is generated live and free on the portal
- ✓Assuming a missing name means rejection; it may mean the survey or Gram Sabha verification is pending
- ✓Giving bank details on lookalike websites instead of the dord.gov.in domain
