PMAY-G Installment Status 2026: Check Your Kist With Registration Number

The portal tells you more than "paid" or "not paid". It shows which stage was geo-tagged, whether the FTO was signed, and whether the bank rejected the transfer — and each of these has a different fix.

Assistance amounts checked against the Ministry of Rural Development's Cabinet approval (PIB, 2024). The number and size of instalments are fixed by each state, so the stage amounts below are examples, not national rules.

What is it?

Under PMAY-G, money is not paid in one go. It is released in instalments as the house reaches stages such as plinth, lintel and roof. Before each release, the stage is photographed and geo-tagged on the Awaas app, then the block generates a Fund Transfer Order (FTO) that two officials sign. Only after both signatures does the money move to your bank through the PFMS system.

Benefits

When you know the exact stage where your money is waiting, you can ask the right person: the gram rozgar sevak or awaas mitra for a missing geo-tag photo, the block office for an unsigned FTO, and your bank for a rejected account. This avoids months of being told 'it will come'.

Practical example: Sunita in Gaya completed her plinth in July but saw no second instalment by September. Her registration number showed the plinth photo was uploaded but the FTO was 'pending for second signature'. She took a screenshot to the block, the FTO was signed the same week, and the amount appeared in her passbook a few days later. (Illustrative example based on how the FTO flow works.)

Eligibility criteria

  • ✓Your house must already be sanctioned — instalment status exists only after sanction
  • ✓Your bank or post-office account must be verified and linked as recorded in AwaasSoft
  • ✓Each next instalment needs the previous stage to be geo-tagged and approved
  • ✓Your Aadhaar details should match the bank account for direct transfer

Documents required

  • ✓Registration number (from the village list or your sanction letter)
  • ✓Bank passbook with recent entries
  • ✓Sanction letter / order sheet, if you received one
  • ✓Photos of the current construction stage, in case the geo-tag is missing

How to apply — step by step

  1. Find your registration number in the village list (Social Audit → Beneficiary details for verification) if you don't have it
  2. Open the IAY/PMAYG Beneficiary search on awaassoft.pmayg.dord.gov.in and enter the registration number
  3. Read the instalment table: instalment number, amount, date and transaction status
  4. Check the inspection/geo-tag rows — a missing photo for a stage means the next instalment cannot be generated
  5. Note the FTO number and its status (generated, first signature, second signature, sent to bank, rejected)
  6. If rejected by bank, update or correct your account at the bank and inform the block office
  7. If nothing moves for weeks, file a complaint with the registration number on pgportal.gov.in (CPGRAMS)

Important dates

Under the PMAY-G framework, the house is expected to be completed within 12 months of sanction. Delays in geo-tagging or construction can hold back the next instalment, so get each stage photographed as soon as it is complete.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • ✓Waiting for money without checking whether the stage photo was ever uploaded
  • ✓Changing the bank account after sanction without telling the block office
  • ✓Assuming an amount shown on the portal is credited — check the transaction status and your passbook
  • ✓Giving your registration number or OTP to callers promising faster release for a fee

Frequently asked questions

How many instalments are paid under PMAY-G?

It depends on your state. The total is ₹1.20 lakh in plains and ₹1.30 lakh in North-Eastern and hill states; states divide it into stage-linked instalments. For example, Bihar's first instalment was reported as ₹40,000.

What does FTO pending mean?

The Fund Transfer Order has been created but not yet signed by both officials, or has not been sent to the bank. Show the FTO number at the block office.

The portal says paid, but my passbook doesn't show it.

Check the date and account number shown. If it went to an old or wrong account, or was rejected, ask your bank and the block office together with a screenshot.

Do I also get MGNREGA wages?

Yes, PMAY-G beneficiaries are entitled to unskilled wage days under MGNREGA for building their own house (90 days in plains, 95 in hilly/difficult areas). Ask your rozgar sevak to open the work.
