PMAY-G Waiting List 2026: How to Find Your Number in the Permanent Wait List
Houses are sanctioned in the order of the Permanent Wait List, not by who visits the block office most. Your priority number — not a middleman — decides when your turn comes.

Process checked against the PMAY-G Framework for Implementation as quoted in the CAG performance audit (2025) and the Ministry's 2020 circular on displaying the PWL on panchayat buildings. Your state may add its own timelines.

What is it?
The Permanent Wait List is the verified list of eligible households in each Gram Panchayat, built from SECC 2011, the Awaas+ 2018 survey and now the Awaas+ 2024 survey. Separate priority lists are made for SC, ST, minorities and others, ranked by deprivation. Every year, the panchayat's annual target is filled by taking families from the top of this list.
Benefits
If you know your position, you can see roughly when your turn may come, check that nobody below you was sanctioned first, and raise a complaint with evidence if the order was skipped.
Eligibility criteria
- ✓Your household must be found eligible in SECC 2011, Awaas+ 2018 or Awaas+ 2024 data
- ✓The name must pass Gram Sabha verification
- ✓Objections against wrongful deletion or ranking go to the appellate committee
- ✓Families who already got a pucca house under any government scheme are removed
Documents required
- ✓Survey acknowledgement or SECC/Awaas+ ID, if you have one
- ✓Aadhaar and ration card of the household
- ✓A printout or screenshot of the panchayat list showing your number
- ✓Written objection (if you were wrongly left out), with date and signature
How to apply — step by step
- Ask the panchayat secretary for the PWL — it is meant to be displayed publicly on panchayat buildings
- Online, open report.pmayg.dord.gov.in and look for the Awaas+ / priority / social audit reports for your panchayat
- Note your priority number and category (SC/ST/minority/others)
- Compare with the current year's sanctioned list (Beneficiary details for verification) to see how far the list has moved
- If your name is missing or ranked wrongly, submit a written objection during the complaint window after the Gram Sabha
- Keep a receipt or stamped copy of your objection and follow up at the block office
Important dates
According to the framework, the verified list is publicised for at least seven days, followed by a fifteen-day window for complaints about wrongful deletion or ranking. Watch for the Gram Sabha date in your village — that is the moment to act.
Common mistakes to avoid
- ✓Thinking a missing name in this year's sanction list means rejection — you may simply be lower in the queue
- ✓Missing the Gram Sabha and the complaint window
- ✓Paying for 'jumping the queue' — sanction follows the list; payments to agents are not part of the process
- ✓Checking only one category list when your household is in a different category
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the waiting list and the beneficiary list?
The waiting list (PWL) contains all verified eligible families. The beneficiary list shows those already sanctioned a house in a given year from that waiting list.
Can I download the PMAY-G waiting list PDF?
There is no paid PDF. Use the public reports on report.pmayg.dord.gov.in or ask the panchayat for the displayed list.
My name was cut from the list. What can I do?
File a written objection during the complaint window after the Gram Sabha. It goes to the appellate committee.
How long will I have to wait?
It depends on your position and the yearly target your panchayat receives. Compare your number with how far this year's sanctions have reached.
