What is it?

PMAY-G in Bihar is run by the state Rural Development Department on the same central AwaasSoft system used across India. Each family gets ₹1.20 lakh, with 60% coming from the Centre and 40% from the state, paid in instalments linked to construction progress. Bihar received a combined target of 7,90,648 houses for 2024-25, and the state reported adding about 38.98 lakh names through the Awaas+ survey that ran from 10 January 2025.

Benefits

Because Bihar's list is on the central portal, you don't need any separate state login. You can check your name, see whether your house is sanctioned and follow every instalment from your phone.

Practical example: Rekha from a panchayat in Muzaffarpur's Kanti block selected Bihar → Muzaffarpur → Kanti → her panchayat → 2025-26 and found no name. Her family was surveyed in early 2025, so she tried 2026-27 and found her name with registration number BH…. She then checked the single-house search and saw the first instalment marked as credited.

  5. Choose the scheme Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Gramin, solve the captcha and submit
  6. Search your name on the page and note the registration number in brackets
  7. Enter it in the IAY/PMAYG Beneficiary search to see sanction and instalment status

Important dates

There is no last date to check the list. New sanctions in Bihar come from the verified Awaas+ 2024 list in each year's target, so keep checking at the start of each financial year and after Gram Sabha meetings.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • ✓Choosing the wrong block — some panchayats were re-mapped; confirm the block with your mukhiya or panchayat secretary
  • ✓Looking only at last year's list when you were surveyed in 2025
  • ✓Paying 'awas agents' for names or instalments — complaints can be filed with the BDO and on pgportal.gov.in
  • ✓Ignoring a bank KYC issue; an un-seeded account can stop the instalment
