PMAY-G Name Rejected or Cut in 2026? Real Reasons and What to Do Next

A missing or rejected PMAY-G name usually has one of four causes: an exclusion criterion was found during verification, the Gram Sabha did not approve the name, the record sits in a different year or panchayat, or the data has a mismatch. Identify which one before you visit any office.

What changed: Many readers of our PMAY-G list guide reported “naam nahi mila” after searching. This guide separates a true rejection from a search mistake, because most missing names we hear about turn out to be a wrong year or panchayat.

What is it?

PMAY-G selects households from survey data (SECC 2011 and Awaas+ surveys). Names are verified, placed before the Gram Sabha, and only then can a house be sanctioned. A name can drop out at any stage. “Rejected” on a report, “not found” in a search and “not yet sanctioned” are three different situations with different fixes.

Benefits

Knowing the exact reason saves repeated trips. If it was a search mistake, you find the record in minutes. If an exclusion criterion was wrongly applied, you can ask for re-verification with proof. If the Gram Sabha left you out, the appellate process exists for exactly this.

Practical example: Ramesh searched the 2025-26 list and could not find his mother's name. He then opened the 2024-25 list for the same panchayat and found her row marked as sanctioned. There was no rejection — he was looking in the wrong year. (Illustrative example.)

Eligibility criteria

  • ✓A household with a pucca house is generally excluded
  • ✓Families where a member is a government employee or pays income tax are generally excluded
  • ✓Ownership of certain assets (such as a motorised four-wheeler) or income above the set limit can trigger exclusion — the exact Awaas+ 2024 list comes from the Ministry's guidelines
  • ✓Data mismatch (name spelling, Aadhaar, bank account, job card) can stop processing without being a real rejection
  • ✓A name not approved in the Gram Sabha can be raised through the appellate process at block/district level

Documents required

  • ✓Aadhaar of the applicant
  • ✓Proof that you do not own a pucca house (local verification, photos)
  • ✓MGNREGA job card, if issued
  • ✓Bank passbook in the applicant's name
  • ✓Any survey slip, old registration number or screenshot

How to apply — step by step

  1. Search the village list again for the previous two financial years and the exact panchayat name
  2. If still missing, open the Social Audit or status reports on report.pmayg.dord.gov.in for your panchayat
  3. Ask the Gram Rozgar Sahayak or panchayat secretary which stage the name stopped at — survey, verification or Gram Sabha
  4. If an exclusion was applied wrongly, submit a written application for re-verification at the block PMAY-G desk with your proof; keep a received copy
  5. If there is no response within a reasonable time, write to the district (DRDA/Zila Parishad) office
  6. Still unresolved? File a complaint on pgportal.gov.in and keep the registration number

Important dates

There is no single national deadline for appeals. Gram Sabha and survey windows are announced locally, so ask your panchayat for the current schedule and apply in writing as early as possible.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • ✓Assuming “not found” means “rejected”
  • ✓Paying an agent to “add your name”
  • ✓Giving only a verbal complaint with no received copy
  • ✓Applying again under a different spelling, which creates duplicate records

Frequently asked questions

Can a rejected name be added again?

If the rejection was based on wrong information, you can request re-verification through the block and district appellate process. A correct rejection (for example, you already own a pucca house) will not be reversed.

My neighbour got a house, why not me?

Selection follows survey data, priority and annual targets. Ask which stage your name is at; that is the only reliable answer.

Is there a helpline?

Use the contact page on pmayg.dord.gov.in and your block office. For unresolved cases, CPGRAMS gives you a trackable complaint number.

Can I apply online myself?

Inclusion depends on government surveys. Ask your panchayat whether a survey window such as Awaas+ is currently open.
