Voter List Name Search 2026: Find Your Name, Download e-EPIC and Fix Errors
You can check whether your name is in the electoral roll on electoralsearch.eci.gov.in in three ways — by EPIC (voter ID) number, by personal details, or by registered mobile number. New voters apply with Form 6, corrections and address shifts use Form 8, and an e-EPIC can be downloaded from voters.eci.gov.in if your mobile number is linked. Everything is free.

Checked on 13 October 2026 against the Election Commission of India's Electoral Search and Voters' Service Portal. Form numbers and search options are as shown on those official portals; special revision schedules are announced by your State's Chief Electoral Officer.

What is it?
The electoral roll is the list of people registered to vote in each polling station area. Your entry shows your name, relative's name, age, part number and serial number. The EPIC (Electors Photo Identity Card) number links you to that entry. If your name is not in the roll, you cannot vote even with an old card, so checking before any election matters.
Benefits
A correct entry lets you vote without trouble and gives you a widely accepted identity document. The online services remove the need for repeated office visits, and every application gets a reference number you can track.

- ✓Indian citizen
- ✓18 years or older on the qualifying date; there are four qualifying dates each year — 1 January, 1 April, 1 July and 1 October
- ✓Ordinarily resident at the address given
- ✓A person can be registered at only one place
What to check
- ✓Age proof (e.g. birth certificate, school certificate, Aadhaar, PAN)
- ✓Address proof (e.g. bank passbook, utility bill, rent agreement, Aadhaar)
- ✓Recent passport-size photo
- ✓Existing EPIC number for corrections
- ✓Mobile number for OTP
What to do next
- Open electoralsearch.eci.gov.in
- Choose Search by EPIC, Search by Details (name, relative's name, age/DOB, State, district) or Search by Mobile
- Enter the captcha and view your entry with part number and polling station
- If not found, register at voters.eci.gov.in with Form 6; for corrections or a changed address use Form 8
- To download e-EPIC, log in on voters.eci.gov.in with your mobile number linked to your EPIC and choose E-EPIC Download
- Track every application using its reference number on the same portal; your Booth Level Officer (BLO) may visit for verification
Important dates
Applications are accepted throughout the year. Names are added in the next update after verification; before an election, the cut-off for inclusion is announced by the Election Commission, so apply early.
Common mistakes to avoid
- ✓Assuming an old voter card means your name is still on the roll
- ✓Filing Form 6 again after moving instead of Form 8, which creates a duplicate entry
- ✓Using a cyber café that keeps your OTP or login
- ✓Searching only by name spelling — try EPIC or mobile search too
