PM Fasal Bima Claim Status: Official Application & Payment Checks
The PMFBY portal lets farmers check application status and claim payments with their application number or Aadhaar. If your crop was insured through the bank or CSC, your name and claim status are visible online.

Premium rates and status-check steps follow the official PMFBY portal. Claim amounts depend on yield-loss assessment in your notified area and are credited by the insurance company.

What is it?
Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana insures crops against natural calamities, pests and diseases. Farmers pay a small share of the premium and the rest is subsidized. Enrolment happens through banks (with crop loans), CSCs, or directly on the portal, and claims are assessed area-wise after crop cutting experiments.
Benefits
If a notified calamity hits your area, the claim is calculated automatically and credited to your Aadhaar-linked account — you do not need to file separately for area-wide events. The portal shows whether your application was accepted and whether a claim has been generated or paid.
Eligibility criteria
- ✓Farmers (owner or tenant/sharecropper) growing notified crops in notified areas
- ✓Enrolment before the season's cutoff date
- ✓Aadhaar and bank account for DBT of claims
- ✓Loanee farmers are covered automatically through their crop loan; non-loanee farmers enrol voluntarily
Documents required
- ✓Aadhaar card
- ✓Bank passbook (Aadhaar-linked)
- ✓Land records or tenancy proof
- ✓Sowing declaration (crop and area)
- ✓Application receipt number
How to apply — step by step
- Open pmfby.gov.in and click 'Application Status'
- Enter your application number, or search with Aadhaar/mobile
- Check whether the application is accepted and premium verified
- After a calamity, check 'Claim Status' for your season and crop
- If the claim shows paid but money has not arrived, confirm Aadhaar-bank seeding at your branch
- For wrong crop/area entries, contact your bank or CSC before the cutoff date
Important dates
Enrolment closes on season-specific cutoff dates (roughly July for kharif and December for rabi, notified state-wise). Applications or corrections after the cutoff are not accepted for that season.
Common mistakes to avoid
- ✓Missing the cutoff date — no enrolment means no claim for that season
- ✓Wrong crop or area in the application, which invalidates the claim
- ✓Believing individual farm damage is covered for all events — most claims are area-based; individual assessment applies only to listed localized calamities
- ✓Not reporting localized damage (hailstorm, waterlogging) to the insurer within the notified window
