What is it?
Ration-card e-KYC validates that an Aadhaar number seeded in the Public Distribution System belongs to the listed beneficiary. The Department of Food has advised states to pursue full validation and enable inter-state e-KYC for portability. Mera Ration 2.0 is the official citizen app for card details, entitlements, transactions, nearby fair price shops and grievances; its FAQ does not claim that every biometric e-KYC can be finished entirely inside the app.
Benefits
Correct records help families view entitlements, use One Nation One Ration Card portability and reduce failures at the fair price shop. Mera Ration 2.0 also lets a beneficiary see monthly grain entitlement and transaction history before raising a grievance.

- ✓Taking only the card holder when another listed member's biometric is pending
- ✓Paying an unofficial website to check a free ration-card record
- ✓Confusing e-KYC with adding a new family member
